Motley County, Texas
Motley County is anchored by Matador in the rolling plains of the Texas Panhandle, and its economy has always run on cattle — the historic Pitchfork Ranch, one of the state's oldest working spreads, occupies much of the county's rangeland. It remains one of the least populous counties in Texas, with dryland farming and ranching accounting for nearly all economic activity outside Matador itself.
