Yes — every layer in every live county is free to browse right now: live parcels, zoning, flood zones, schools, districts and more, straight in your browser. Paid plans come later; state KMZ bundles for Google Earth are available today on the Pricing page.
Click your state on the home page, then your county — it opens full screen. Turn layers on from the A–Z panel (Live Parcel Data sits on top), click anything on the map for its card, or search an address. Full walkthrough on How It Works.
Layers come from official public sources. Elected-official cards refresh monthly from the official rosters and carry a "Data verified" date; development news refreshes weekly; parcel lines stream live from state GIS servers. For time-sensitive regulatory use, verify with the relevant authority.
Yes — research, screenshots, and cites in your own deals and documents are welcome. Scraping, bulk downloading, republishing, or building datasets from VMAP is prohibited — the data carries embedded identification and copies are traceable. Full rules: Terms of Use.
Downloads are KMZ — a compressed, self-contained format that bundles the map data and any site plans into one file. It opens in Google Earth (free), ArcGIS, QGIS, and most GIS tools.
