Perquimans County, North Carolina
Perquimans County lies in North Carolina's Inner Banks along the Albemarle Sound, a rural, sparsely populated area anchored by Hertford, its county seat on the Perquimans River. Row-crop agriculture and timber dominate the land base, while waterfront lots along the sound and river are subject to state CAMA coastal rules that constrain docks, bulkheads and new shoreline construction.
