Butte County, California
Butte County centers on Chico and Oroville at the northern edge of the Sacramento Valley, with almond and rice ground on the floor and forest climbing into the Sierra. The 2018 Camp Fire reset the county's housing market and much of Paradise is still rebuilding, so fire-hazard severity zoning, insurance availability, and Oroville Dam-related floodplain rules now drive site selection as much as price.
