Halifax County, Virginia
Halifax County is a Southside Virginia market on the North Carolina line where South Boston, not the town of Halifax, is the commercial center and the site of the county's industrial recruitment at its business and technology parks. The old tobacco economy is gone and the county now competes for manufacturing on US 58 and US 501 with the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center supplying workforce training, across a very large and otherwise thinly settled land area.
