Lancaster County, South Carolina
Lancaster County lies along the North Carolina line southeast of Charlotte, split between the historic seat of Lancaster, a former textile-mill town, and the Indian Land panhandle bordering Ballantyne and Fort Mill. Real estate activity concentrates almost entirely in the panhandle, where subdivision and commercial development follow Charlotte's southward sprawl along US-521 and SC-160, while the rest of the county remains rural.
