Franklin County, North Carolina
Franklin County is a rural county northeast of Raleigh whose small towns, Louisburg the county seat, Youngsville, and Franklinton, are absorbing spillover growth from the Research Triangle along US-1 and US-401. Much of the county runs on well and septic, so buildable land tracks where municipal water and sewer reach, pushing new subdivisions toward the Wake County line in Youngsville and Franklinton rather than around Louisburg itself.
