Hernando County, Florida
Hernando County is the northern end of the Tampa Bay metro on the Gulf, anchored by Spring Hill, Brooksville and the coastal communities around Weeki Wachee. The Suncoast Parkway put it within commuting range of Tampa, driving a residential boom on a 1970s platted-lot grid — so much of the county's supply is thousands of scattered small legacy lots rather than assembled tracts.
