Glades County sits on the western shore of Lake Okeechobee in inland south Florida, with Moore Haven its only incorporated town. Cattle ranching, sugarcane and citrus dominate, and the county has among the lowest population density in the state — land ownership is a small number of very large agricultural holdings, with the Brighton Seminole Reservation occupying a significant share.
